Currently the home of the world-class Ferleman Gallery, 9 North Centre has been a fixture in downtown Cumberland since the 1890’s.  The building housed Bernstein's Furniture Store from about 1914 until 1981, when it was sold to Goodwill Industries.  Goodwill used it as their retail store, processing and training center until it was purchased by H&S Development LLC in August of 2006 and redeveloped by Betsey Hurwitz-Schwab and Doug Schwab. In addition to over 10,000 square ft. of exhibit space in the Ferleman Gallery, 9NC is also home to Gallery Stage, a live music venue, and boasts five luxury apartments.
